Hello all My dad just purchused a 1988 Chevy Cavilier 2.8 AT and it have a problem well I think its a problem here is the problem

It idles a little rough and on take off it hisatates for a second or two and is very slugish. I am also looking to beef it up a little so I can keep up will the clowns at my school
I hope I am in the right place for help if not can you all direct me to the right place for help. I would ask my dad but he does not know much about the 2.8 and what can be done with it he's a V8 man and he would let me use his elkie to eat my school mates thank for any help given in advance.

There is a service recall for hesitation and idle roughness. I think they can reprogram the computer at the dealership. I think it would be free but you may want to call first. As far as mods. The 2.8L 1988 is OBD I. You can do alot. Turbos, superchargers, aluminum block, stroker crank to 3.4, exhaust, intake mods, cams. Depends on how much money you want to spend. There is a thread in engine performance right now about superchargers for your engine. They seem to be a good deal. USE THE SEARCH BUTTON MAN!

looking for a better chip maybe exhaust dont what to spend to much money on it now hoping my dad will move on to the 4x4 and let me use the elkie for power but for now miner mods will be fine that I and my dad can do to better the 88 cavilier 2.8 im in high school so money would be a problem for me learning to spend my own money and all my dad will do the work but I have to come up with the fund so any mod I can do cheaply would be greatly apretiated. opions anyone
