  • head gasket replacement, few questions

i have a question, there is a 2 wire connector thats wires run from a little connector behind cylinder #3(it has a yellow and purple wire) and end some where on the top end. my question is where does it plug into on the to end? cause i don't remember unplugging it.

also i'm sure i will have a few more questions that need to be answered come friday when i start putting it back together, but for right now thats the only one.
    thanks

RE: head gasket replacement, few questions

The yellow/purple wire combination can only be found in 3 connectors. One is the crank sensor witch is on the block just above the oilpan on the rear side of the engine. Those same two wires run to the ignition module. That's the second connector and the one Im pretty sure you are talking about. Most notably, the wires are a twisted pair. The third connector is strictly for the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the transmission. That is located on the top of the transmission nearest the passenger side axle (on both auto's and manuals)

    Hope that helps.

yeah it's a little single wire set(has it's oun little flex tube for the two wires)

so it should plug into the connection on the passenger side of the coil packs, correct?

I don't remember if its the passenger side or not, but definatly goes to the coil pack though. It only fits the one socket anyway.
