  • Oil pressure is fine, oil flow to rockers is pathetic

I have never seen anything like this so I was wondering if anyone else has. There is 50 PSI of oil pressure at startup. There is no oil flow out the pushrods to the rocker arms though until it warms up. THen its still pretty weak with only a few getting enough pressure to shoot it out the pushrod. We are thinking its a clogged passage somewhere even though the oil looks good. We were thinking oil pump until we got the gauge on it and it shows plenty of pressure.

im going with clogged passage, maybe the passages are the ones in the pushrods themselves.

New pushrods and lifters. Oil looks clean too so it doesn't look like its abuse either. Just strange.

Keep in mind the gauge reads the pressure just after the filter, before the oil gets to the galleys. If there is something clogged up, the gauge might be reading fine, but the rest of the engine might be starved.

We are thinking that an engine flush was ran through. We pulled the pushrods and 1 was clogged with carbon already.
