I put in a high volume oil pump in my 2.8 fiero. I was wondering were to set the new screen height off the bottom of the oil pan?? Thanks, Dave.

what i do on all gm motors is measure the depth of the pan to figure it out. get a straight edge and a ruler and measure the depth of the pan were the pickup would sit. then put the straight-edge on the pickup, and with the pan gaskets on the block, measure down to each side of the block, and get it 1/8" less than the depth of the pan. also its important to have it square.
the best idea is one the pickup is were you want it, take the pump off and tack-weld it to the pump. this prevents it from turning or working its way out of the pump. if it turns, it will suck itself into the pan and you lose oil pressure.
