  • Pulling to the left

My car is pulling to the left for some reason its not tires, brakes,or alignment all new, someone told me once about something that could wear at the top of my struts that would make it pull.Any suggestions.

I dunno.. maybe you need it aligned again? My car pulled to one side but since I drive the shit out of it eventually it fixed itself and drives straight

I've smashed my car on the curb on 2 seperate occations as well. One time I was reaching into the glove box (wasn't looking at the road) and blew my right tires (and damaged one rim), the second time I was trying to whip the ass end of the car around the corner, it had rained, I ramped up onto neighbor's lawn and the light post took out my drivers side mirror . The car was still running so I took off (and left tire marks on their lawn ). Luckly that curb was the newer style or my car would have had major damage. It did bruise the front tires which my buddie's dad runs a tire shop so he replaced them and sent them away as defective

I guess this proves that w-bodies are ultra durable vehicles!

my buddy's 94 Grand AM needed new control arm bushings on the passenger side, before he got those, he was getting a hard pull to the right under acceleration. - the first shop said it was the strut mount plate too, we he ignored that diagnosis and just got the bushings done - his car drives straight now.

Sorry to hijack, but was your friends car also making a grumbling/grinding type noise under hard acceleration, Dave?

Ya, those bushings make NO sense at all.... If i ever have to help a friend replace those again I'm gonna make 'em get the RKSport ones..

Ok cool. I have a motor mount out, and those have never been changed. Considering those bushings have also never been changed, I think there's a chance that donig both will get rid of all my stupid noises.

not sure if Martin had a grumbeling noise - but typically those kinds of noises are associated with a bad wheel bearing.

Wheel bearings passed the lift and whack test. They're still pretty stiff.

The front strut bearings are apparently prone to wear on W bodies. I had the same problem with my car. Had them replaced along with the strut cartridges and all was well. Not sure wether your car has replaceable cartridges, or if you have to replace the entire strut. (Later models do)

                        Strut. It's an NBody.
