Used a straight edge to check for flatness... the kid was in a hurry... so we went with this.

I went to the local parts store, like 5 of them, and finally found the part... and like you said.. it was smaller. But because the old fitting broke off in the intake, I just tapped that while it was in there and put the new one in. Fits great...

All that is left is to re-mount the coilpack (had to change dip stick and housing) put the plug wires back on, flush the radiator, add oil, cross fingers, and start it. If it runs smoothly with no major problems I'm going to flush the block.

What exactly is the procedure to do this on a Lumy? I will do a search later, but if someone could link me to one, or just give me a quick 5 step procedure, I'd appreciate it.

I think I'm going to let it get up to temp, pop the bottom line off the radiator, then pop the top line, and stick the hose in it. Let it run until all of the water coming out is clean and clear... re-flush the radiator, and attach all hoses again. I think while I'm flushing the block I will have Jay ( the owner) pull the overflow back out and rinse that as good as he can...

I'll have to get some pics of his oil/coolant that came out of the car.. it was like a bucket of gray/brown tar crap... much worse than the chocolate milk that came out of my 5.0 when I blew those head gaskets...

We started the car yesterday, and after screwing with the front plug wires, it started right up, and purrrrrs liek a kitten (with an exhaust leaK).

One thing I noticed while putting the TB back on was the WOT switch that goes on the upper linkage... it is not allowing WOT before it stops it from opening all the way.... why would it be too short to allow WOT? What could I have done to make it shorter?

The car runs, but I'd like it to be able to go WOT... instead of removing that other cable...

okay. That last thing makes no sense. lol

Depending on year, there are up to 3 different wires on the throttle body. One for the throttle, one for the cruise, and one for the transmissions detent.

if they are all done right, then there should not be any issues.
