  • Got a Question!!

I have a 98' monte carlo ls, the 3.1. I was wondering if anyone knew what the 6 inch diameter speherical drum located in front of the left front wheel well, mounted inside, near the bottom in that quarter panel is for? There is one hose attached to it that moves air?! Is it a regulator or something? I am asking beacause it got broke off and i was wondering if i should even be driving my car without it. Thanks

That sounds like a vacuum tank. You need that in order to operate your selector dial for changing to 'vent', 'floor', 'defrost' ect... I don't think it will make your car run worse, but it could mean a vacuum leak...

Its a vacuum ball, plug off the hose until you get a new one.
