  • Correct engine stand bolts to mount GM 3.9 3900

Hello, I am planning on taking out a LZ9 (gm 3.9L 3900) from a Chevy Uplander and put it on the engine stand to work on. I plan to purchase the Grade 8 mounting bolts (to attach LZ9 to the engine stand) in advance, but not sure of the correct bolt size. I read somewhere that the bolt size should be M12, as that would thread into the block, is this correct ? It would be the first time I am doing this with the GM V6 and wanted to have everything in hand ahead of time. Can someone please help confirm the correct bolt and thread pattern ?

    Also if in fact it is M12, would the thread be M12 x 1 or is it M12 x 1.25 ? or perhaps M12 x 1.5 ?

    Thanks in advance.

M12x1.75 but I don't know the lengths from memory.

Thanks for the reply, I will measure it with the engine stand claw and get the appropriate size bolts. By the way, how many inch deep into the engine block should the bolt thread go in ?

The diameter of a bolt is the minimum depth you should use.
