I would say that you want to reset the PCM. You will need to drive around for a while for the IAC to "learn" though.
Sounds dumb, but isn't the TPS related to the IAC somehow? I thought I saw somewhere that the IAC gets a reading from the TPS...... Anyway, you could always look at that too.

The losy instructions that it came with said that after you have it installed you have to drive over 40mph to fully seat the IAC (I'm guessing after you reset the PCM?) I'll try it out and see what happens...1995 Grand Am GT

Ok, well I tried resetting the PCM. Of course nothing happened... It will NOT start without giving it gas and it has a varied idle. It has to be something else. I'm guessing a sensor isn't right? I also heard that sometimes the '95's engine wiring harnesses maybe different from one another?!? Because I had to change my orginal... But that doesn't seem right. And I changed the igintion coils and modules a couple of times, and they both can't be broken. It acts funny too, when I pump the brake pedal, the rpms go up to normal?!? This is driving me crazy. Any ideas?1995 Grand Am GT

Since you are mentioning pumping the brake, that could be a vacuum problem. The brake uses vacuum from the engine to assist it. That might at least give you a new direction to look...-Brad-

But could that cause it not to ever want to start? When ever I trun it over when the motor is cold (not been running for a long time), it seems like its not getting something... but I don't know what it is. I'll check the vacuum thing tomorrow.1995 Grand Am GT
