concerning: 90 Beretta GT 3.1L MPFI
Started to run bad after a spark plug wire change...
Since then I have:
-installed a known good ignition module and coilpacks (came off my dohc which runs fine so they must be good)
-tried 3 different sets of spark plug wires
-all wires are definetly going to the right places (coil/cylinder)
-new fuel filter
-fuel pressure: has 35-40 psi at idle and 40-45ish at wot
-compression: ~150-160 on all cylinders
-new plenum gaskets
-all injectors ohm at 12.2
-no codes stored in the ecm
-swapped MAP sensors with the one from my dohc
-exhaust does not smell or make any kind of smoke
-no knocks or ticks (with exception of clutch TO bearing but that is unrelated)
-egr makes odd clicking sound when the harness is plugged in (replaced egr with one from dohc and click became worse so I put original egr back in and left it unplugged... cleaned pintles on egr as well and inlet of manifold)
-ran engine without egr just plugged hole in manifold with rubber stopper (still ran like crap)
-have filled tank with new gas to eliminate poor fuel and also a bottle of FI cleaner in the tank
-car runs and starts easily, idles ok. Lacks a lot of power. Before replacing the coil packs/ign.module engine would surge - now surge is mostly gone but still lacks a lot of power. Also condition would worsen before ign/coil change, now condition is consistent (although overall better than with original ign/coils).
sorry this is so long! i just have no clue what to do with this thing!
Oo ya... on the firewall side of the engine, where the wire harness for the injectors is, I noticed a harness not plugged into anything, it has 2 green wires going into it. Should this be plugged in somewhere? I couldnt find anything to plug it into. I measured no voltage at this harness while the engine was running.
