Guys,
Since I have been having problems with water getting into my oil it has got me paranoid about the head gaskets.
Robby answered that the dash temp comes from the rear head. I see the sensor and it is at the corner of the head below the EGR valve. What I am wondering and worrying about is this. That temp sensor is on what would be the outside of the water passage and I know that my water level was really low so even if the temp gauge never went into the red (actually never more than 3/4 of the way) I am wondering if the heads could still be warped?
OK. I see from the sensor section that there is also a temp sensor near the thermostat. That one is what the computer uses for running the engine right? So the second one is a back-up? Would either one getting too hot turn on a dash light?
I am going to replace intake gaskets and re-torque using thread lock and if that doesn't work its off to the charity lot with BL.
