  • Broken intake manifold????

Alright, you can see my other post about water in oil for more info.

Quick question: Are cracked intake manifolds a problem on 3100's??

Why in heck would the two bolts at each end of the manifold be loose?

Quick info that I shold add to a signature: 1995 Lumina (Boring 4 door) 191,000 miles, thats all I know.

No its not common at all. However leaking gaskets are. You need to re and re the gaskets with the new style gaskets the new torque specs and of course loc tight. GM knows this is a problem and that is what the revsions are for.

OK, what are the new torque specs? I don't know if I can get a torque wrench that reads in inch ounces like the manual says, can I just hand tighten reasonably tight??? So any ideas why the end bolts get loose?

No you need a torque wrench. The end bolts come loose because they never got tightened right at the factory. New specs are on this site. Also you need lock tight this time around since the factory never used a thread locker.
