Question for you.

So I have my car, 1992 Lumina 3.1

Got it at 66,000 miles, it now has 101,000+

I have not done any maintenance engine wise, cept oil changes. Im looking to spend a max of $200 (for this paycheck, ill get more in 2 weeks) on my motor. What should I do? Like I said, I have not done anything except oil changes. should i do coolant flush, complete tuneup, tranny filter/fluid change? Need your input.

Spark plugs, coolant flush, tranny flush/filter, air filter, and spark plug wires. Thats all I can think of.

And the approximate cost on that? Just wondering what I "should" be paying. Everyone knows the mechanic is out to screw all.

Oh, you dont plan to do this stuff yourself? Expect to pay a lot then...

A trans flush with filter will run you about $130, coolant about $100, plugs and wires, depends on the shop...

Coolant flush is super easy, do that one yourself for sure. Trans flush and filter isn't hard but can get really messy if you aren't quite sure what you are doing, so you probably want to get someone with a hoist to do that. Plugs are easy as long as you like working on the back of the tilted engines...

If I had the time and the tools, I would do this myself.
