  • 3100 Help

I have a 94 Pontiac Grand Prix SE w/ the 3100 after startup It tends to hesitate to the point of almost stalling? I need to floor the accelerator to clear it out? It happens 2 to 3 times then clears right up No bucking, and or close stall out. Any suggestions as to what to check or replace? I have had a few close calls with this in reference to almost gettign run over, and or hit Any help would be greatful.

I am having the same problem...

Starting in the morning, it is fine. Starting after sitting for 2+ hours, it is fine. After it warms up, if you shut it off and try to restart after about 20 minutes, it pops and misses and wants to die. If you revv it for 5 min or so, it seems to blow out of the system, then runs fine.

                It's on my 95 cutlass w/3100

I've had a few also tell me it's the fuel system, but I'm not sure.

As far as replacing the fuel pump goes, make sure fuel pressure on the new pumps is up to spec -- I don't know if there's a bad batch of them going around or what, but when I replaced mine, I had get an exchange twice to get a Delco pump that would do more than 30PSI..

Hey guys, 191,000 miles on a 95 Lumina, same problem, blocking egr, new plugs nad wires, new fuel pump and fuel filter have not done anything to fix the problem. To further refine I would say that it happens more in cold weather, more in rainly weather. What do you mean aobut checking the fuel injectors? No gumout or STP fix for the fuel injectors?
