  • 3.4 Brake booster line replacement question

I just got my 95 GTP yesterday and I love everything about this car. I traded my 1998 Buick Regal GS for it because the Buick had a bad tranny (2nd one) along with a few other problems and I didn't have $2000 to fix everything.

But anyway, the brake booster line has a leak in it (I think) and I want to replace it. I already ordered a new one but how the heck are you supposed to reach it to replace it?!?!? Does GM expect an 8 yoar old to do this job? My hands are too big to reach back there.

    Thanks for any help.

You have to rock the motor forward... its a pain in the ass. What you can do is remove the upper engine mount (dogbone) and then push the car forward when its in park. Then, when the car is forward, quick push the parking brake to hold it there. (This probably sounds confusing, but if you try it you will see what Im talking about ).

I replaced mine with a rubber hose. So much cheaper and easier to install and remove. Works great and never had a problem.
