    scanning software

hey there, i've got a 93 beretta w/ 3.1L V6 and have been able to use a program called freescan with my laptop and a serial to Gm 12-pin ALDL adapter cable. As long as you have a scantool/cable which runs from your laptop to the aldl connector on the car you should be set. You'll have to choose a definition file when you run freescan so that the software can interface with the specific eprom in your ECM, i'm pretty sure that freescan covers all common GM cars from mid-80s to mid90s. Also, EFILive v4 (not v6) is supposed to work as well, i have'nt tried it yet. Here's the freescan website: http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/ecu_software.htm.
You might have to fiddle with things to get it working, write back here if you have problems...:>
