  • Question : L82 3.1 full motor rebuild

As the subject states, I'm looking to do a full rebuild on my L82 3.1 once Spring hits. It's got a bit of a 'tick' (could be a rod or a lifter, not 100% sure which), so I want to do a motor swap and then rebuild the original. Can anyone give me a parts list I'll need so that I can start getting some prices now. I'm a slight amateur, so I don't know exactly what everything is called, especially the little things. All help is greatly appreciated.

Its most likely a lifter. A rod would be louder and vary with engine load more so than just RPM. Is this a stock rebuild or are you looking to upgrade it any?

To give you a parts break down, it would be best to pick up a service manual (not the typical Haynes-Chiltons book) and thumb through it.
          3.1 LH0 is not a 3100 L82, however this section is for the LQ1.

Did I miss something? The OP states L82 3.1 and this is the Pushrod Maintenance section...

Has the OP posted about this project elsewhere as well?

You missed that it was moved from the DOHC section to here.
