I have a 94 GP 3100 and this summer it has started to have a couple of issues... It started intermittently.. now it does it all the time.... It is a total dog out off the line... before I thought it was like a computer glitch.. Only every so often... Now I could swear that the thing feels like it is pulling 3rd gear of the line.... Tranny doesn't seem to slip..RPMs don't jump like slipping... But one of my friends said that maybe it is my converter...being plugged.... and it is choking the engine out on take off..All I know right now is that the 2.8 in my 88 GP seems like a drag racer compared to the 94.... any help would be appreciated....

And I have dropped the pan and changed fluid and filter and the pan was clean... Fluid was a little burnt.. Not too bad.. Haven't had the car very long though and hate to have prob right away... But the trusty 2.8 is still running like a champ.

i would take the car in to a tranny shop and have it looked at. take it to a good well known shop (or one that is part of a chain) not a smaller shop. if you drive up to the shop and its deserted, there is a reason for it, best to stay away (the reason i say this is because most people know nothing about how a tranny works, and its easy for a hsop to screw people over).

anyways, take it in, tell them the problem. they will take it for a drive to conferm whats going on, and they may do a couple different things. first, they may scan the computer to see if there are any codes or anything seems out in left feild. if they dont scan it, they may just want to pull the pan and have a look.

If your cat is plugged up, you would notice it glowing or rattling most likely. You could put a pipe in its place to test out if the car runs a lot better though as well.

As for the trans, it could be that too but I would bet its something electrical or sensor (grounds come to mind). Maybe your O2 is bad and you are dumping fuel at low RPM? Best to have the computer scanned while driving to verify everything there is good.
