  • heater fan replacement & brake perportioning

Alright so my heater fan or whatever its called (the interior fan that blows air out the vents) took a dump, its making some pretty interesting noises. I bought a replacement but I cant find the fan under the dash. Any help on how to get the old one out and new one in?

Also have a braking issue, my brake petal seems a tad soft and my drivers side rear brake is trying a lot harder then the rest as I've locked it up a few times trying to stop at stop signs on gravel

Blower motor should be accessible from the passenger side of the engine bay, up against the firewall. Not sure what kind of car you have, but just do a google search for your car and "blower motor", and it should show you where to look.

            Yeah... do a brake job.

Drums in the rear? Adjusted correctly?

Check for seized pistons and/or guide pins in disc brakes...

Bleed the whole thing lately? Air in the system will cause a soft pedal... so can worn rubber flex lines.

You listed 3 cars in your signature and specified none in your post...

That never stops anyone from talkin' 'bout the others... LOL.

I recently replaced a hub on my minivan and found the guide pins were dry and the pads are nearly gone... makes a difference.
