  • flywheel balancing

hi, i need to put a new flywheel on my engine, just wanted to know what the procedure in mounting a weighted flywheel was. its a 2.8 from an 87 firebird, going into an 86 s10. i dont want to bolt it up and have the weight be off balance, and cause a bearing to spin or something. thanks

Is your flywheel weighted? If it is, it should only mount one way. There should be a telltale hole on the FW, that matches a mark on the butt of the crank.
If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.

it will only mount one way, all 660 motors use a non-symetrical bolt pattern on the back of the crank.
