  • Leaky 3400 FPR

    Is it common for the 55 psi stock fpr to leak? 2 of the 3 I've used from junkyard engines have leaked. Just wondering if this is a really common thing. They both have leaked right under the top hat. Not a significant amount of fuel but enough that you can smell it in the engine bay.
    '89 Firebird, 3500 Turbo, T56, 9-bolt/4.11
    '86 Fiero, 3500, 4-speed

    I don't think it's normal, but a mechanic friend of mine had described something similar he found on a 3400 recently, where the FPR would look like it was "sweating" fuel. It was actually seeping out around the crimp connection that holds the two halves together.

      That's what my 2003 Grand AM GT's 3400 pressure regulator does...
