Question : Diassambling engine 3400 Heads

I have UIM, LIM, Fuel rails, rockers, pushrods and p/r guide. How do I get the heads off, I felt like I was going to break my socket off from the stress.
I have a 2001 3400. The engine is out of the car too.

If using hand tools, use a 1/2" breaker bar with an impact socket.

But yes I always use a 1/2" drive breaker bar. A regular 3/8 socket and ratchet just will never do it, you can't get enough leverage.

Ben, It was the plastic piece not sure of the actual name, just on the outside of the heads.
This is my first engine I have done anything with. luckily it was from my better half's truck. It snapped started tapping, end up being the bolt that holds the rocker arm on stripped. The engine only had about 85,000.
