  • 92 Lumina 3.1 balancer removal?

The outer ring fell off my balancer. I removed the center bolt but there is no room to use the puller to remove the balancer. Is there a special tool for this or do I have to remove the entire engine?
    Thanks

Buy or rent a balancer puller. It takes about 2 minutes to remove it. Most tools also double as an installer.

You will probably need a balancer puller and an impact gun to remove it.

I have a puller but there is no room for it. The balancer is too close to the inner fender

          Lower the engine some then.

I have also herd of people cutting access holes in the fender and then using plastic body plugs after the job is done.

Easier to take the strut loose at the top and lower the cradle on that side Of course take the motor mount out

I got it buy removing front mounts, tilting the engine forward and installing the mounts with the extra hole at the bottom to hold the engine there. (Like changing spark plugs) I also had to remove two bolts for the steel heater hose and move it out of the way and remove the plastic fender skirt.
