  • Question : coil pack/fan removal questions

Ok so i found the bolts for the fan, took them out, unplugged the fan motor, and started trying to remove it only to find that i cant get it out from the top because the exhaust manifold is in the way and there seems to be no way to get it out from the bottom either. How do i get this thing out?

Also on the coils themselves, there is 3 bolts right? i found one but i cant find the others lol. This car has a good amount of miles and everything is dirty as hell which is making this rather frustrating

i seem to remember two bolts holding in a coil pack.... one on top, one on bottom, more or less centered.

IIRC if you have weak motor mounts, you can jack the engine up just enough to clear the fan motor. Or you can remove the fan motor. As always prior to most repairs, disconnect the battery.

          ok ill try that^^

Ok so i got the fan out, I took the 3 bolts out (2 on top 1 on bottom) and then i took off the coolent hose that runs from the thermostat to the radiator. and slid the fan shroud over and pulled really hard lol
