  • car runs like crap when you apply any power when warm

ok here it is ive done almost everything to this car i replaced the
    pcv valve
swapped out egr (took it apart and cleaned all the carbon out)
cleaned out the intake(minor p&p job done by myself on the upper)
    tps sensor
    map sensor
new plugs and wires even the coils too msd ones they were the same price
    changed fuel filter
swapped out the vacum cannister that plugs into the front of tranny
    injectors professionally cleaned out
all this stuff helped out alot i even got a nice power gain accross the whole powerband but when it warms up like you have been driving for a little while and you start to drive it hard like a 0-60 run or something like that it develops a sputter that can be sometimes cured by shutting the car off for a few and restarting it but then it comes back again with the more agressive use of the gas pedal. someone told me that if i replaced the catalytic converter that it would help it out or would hollowing it out just to see if it helps the problem of course and buying a new one if needed please help ive done everything to this car.

95 beretta z26 3100 o2 sensor is only a few months old so it shouldnt be that but the cat has probably a 173000 miles on it.

My fuel pump would do that when the engine got warm and the hot gas got recycled to the tank. The brushes in the pump were worn and shorting out when it got hot, which made the output considerable less than what it should be. Thats another possibility (mine was real bad, you couldnt floor it without it bogging all to hell).

Other idea is the coil packs putting out less when they get hot.

i vote for fuel pump or timing set. my car would run fine for about 5-10 minutes, but when it warmed up i started missing cylinders and limp along. new fuel pump solved the problem.

how much do you think it would cost to get a new fuel pump installed giving the price of the pump and the labor which is usually 50 an hour
