  • Tach Signal?

    Hey everyone,
Does anyone know what the tach signal looks like coming out of the white wire on the DIS module? Is it one pulse per rev, three, or six? Or is it some relative voltage signal? I don't have an oscilloscope to tell.

I need to wire up my analog tach that would have normally seen 2 pulses per revolution. Has anyone already ben through this conversion/know about a product?

    Thanks,
    Paul

if i had to guess, i'd say it will be a signal that needs a small amount of current/voltage sourced into it, and the ICM grounds the circuit at a frequency relative to the speed of the engine.

i may be able to test this in a day or so, just have to pull my bench back out.

Analog tach set for 6 cylinder will work fine off of that wire. I used to have one eons ago, then I just got a full cluster.

My analog tach is set for 6 cyl and works off of that wire., it should be 1 pulse per revolution.
