Hello. I have a CS with 3100 and approx 63k miles.
It sat for about 1 year in my uncle's garage. Not sure if the SES light was on before that, I wasn't driving it back then.
It has a P1441 code going on. EVAP purge solenoid purging even when it's not supposed to, if I understand it correctly. Being a cheap part and easy to access, I replaced the evap purge solenoid, and the code is still coming back. This solenoid is just behind/below the coil pack by the firewall. Two hoses come into it and one electrical connector. Wires/hoses seem tight and free of damage.
The top hose on the solenoid is going forward, towards the PCV. The bottom hose loops 180* and downwards. Are my hoses switched perhaps? I know the car had its intake manifold gaskets replaced at a shop in May 2010 and perhaps they reversed those hoses? But based on the hose lengths, and angles on the connectors, I do not think so.
I've read someone say to check the charcoal canister and its connections, at the driver's side rear of the car. Before I throw more money, thought I'd ask.
Thanks.
Brian
