  • 3400 alero running hot

My friend has a 99 alero with the 3400 engine. It has been running quite hot lately. Is there only the one bleeder valve? The one we bled was on top of the water pump. Now what I wonder is that a bleeder valve on the thermostat housing? Reason I think it may be is because my old 3100 cutlass had a valve there but no coolant lines running to it. Also the airdam that attaches to the radiator is gone, could that also be part of the problem? Thanks!

Well there arent numbers on the guage but it is about 1/4 above half (normal running temp) Im guessing at least 200. We changed out the stock t-stat for a 180 a few months ago. I havent rode in the car in a while to tell if the thermo opens or not. 50,000 miles on the car and it has already had the intake gaskets done.
