My new Valve springs have the internal spring damper. The old springs have the damper tube. I assume I do not need the metal damper tube with my new springs?

What motor? Dampers are old school, creating friction to limit the resonant frequency for straight cut valve springs. I wouldn't use those springs regardless, because there are cheap springs that are better, using the actual spring design to limit that resonance. I have no idea what a damper tube is though vs a coiled damped like my old gen 2 had.Ben
