    Just remember, don't do the wool unless the part is off the engine. It gets wool fuzz all around the areas being cleaned.

      The only power tools I would use on gasket surfaces on aluminum would be those 3M pads in a die grinder on low pressure, for sure not a wire wheel.
      That 0000 Steel Wool is great stuff. It is messy as hell if your really working it. It can clean windows and glass VERY WELL. Steel Wool can remove stubborn crap on glass that cleaner will not.
