When you see the pretty girls in the convertable behind you.....you will feel better knowing your not shortening their lifespan.

Now if i can just figure out what this "710" means on my oil fill cap?

Your car is about to sound awful. Tornado under the car, raspy out the back.

tell me about it.... i cut the end closest to the o2 sensor and cracked it all out, at first i was like "theres nothing wrong with this damn thing!!" once i got to the other end i noticed how red it was and that it was REALLY Clogged, im guessin the bad MAP sensor did this, or do you guys think there may be something else, im gonna weld it together tomorrow and rig up the O2 sensor then put it back in...

TOO many ppl get pissed off in traffic @ the buick with no exhaust...

I hope your not driving that with out the exhaust hooked up. The fumes are just pouring into the cab. Your floor board is not air tight. Stick a smoke bomb under your car (not really) and the cab would fill up real quick.

w/o the cat, you are breathing nox. And nox is mostly generated at idle and mild cruise when running stoich.

I think you might have a coolant leak and that is what clogged the cat. Silicon deposits. The reason the rear is clogged is due to heat melting the foreign crap and trying to get blown out.

Keep an eye on the coolant level in both the overfill tank and the radiator neck.

Also, with the new exhaust (gutted or not) installed, see if the car drips liquid out the tail pipe after a long drive.

at this time we have no choise but to drive it with no cat hooked up, At stoplights i can smell some fumes but once in motion its fine... If i had any other options trust me id fgo that route.... but no worries were buying a new welder today and gonna weld it together

I dont think there is any coolant leak, Levels are the same, but like i mentioned before She drove the car with a bad MAP sensor for MONTHS.... the clogged end ur seeing is the end Closest to the engine, the end closest to the 2nd O2 sensor is completely clog free

i dont mind a lil nox YUMMMMMEHHHH!!! on a serious note ive breathed far worse things than a lil exhaust from an engine...(not by choice) and when i changed the fuel pump i totally forgot about the pressure and got a great taste of gasoline and some in my eye..... i know right....

On another note.. Talk about Safety.... my dad had to part out his 1986 F150 and we had no options than u see here, yes his brave ass got under that truck.....

Now heres a bit of what im up to (I do things different than my father)

And heres my 1st tranny rebuild... i had to pull the sychros from the 4 speed and put them into my spare 5 speed as the 5 speed had 235k miles and 2nd gear had a grind to it

im not mechanically retarded... just not too familiar with these newer vehicles and am Very interested in learning the new systems, as you see above we have ALL older model cars, theres a reason why i stick to old... Cheaper Reliable and its PAID FOR!!

i dont mean to offend anyone with different makes in a GM forum... the Ford Festiva guys got VERY Agressive towards me because i used the word HONDA... i called them a few things they probably couldnt comprehend, im currently going to have to rebuild my 1st A/T and am rebuilding a motor for my dads 1990 Festiva, the 2001 Century is the first OBD2 ive EVER worked on...

As long as you are aware of the risks, do as you will. Exhaust gas is nasty bad for you. A few days open end isn't too bad as a small leak over years could be.

of course i know my engine isnt FASTER than anyones here With my Weber K726 im pushing about 85-90hp, but Fact behind the CVCC Honda engine is that they Rarely EVER die, the mistake people make and think all hondas are crap is because of the person Building the car... But my engine Will get 35+mpg Easily

Once i build the Bike Carb engine i STILL wont run my mouth about my honda, but id like to go head up with a few cars to see how quick it will be, i plan on Honda CBR 1000 Carbs, shave the head .040" & get a different Cam and some other top end work then Bore the block for D16 Pistons, i know i could get a TON more power with a Si engine Swap, but i want to keep it classic with a unique mod (The Bike Carb/Si head Hybrid), no diss to the GM cars because i still like them very much, but ive got japanese classic Fever now XD

Say i buy another GM car are there Shift Kits Available for the A/T's because i for 1 Dislike Autos, but i keep seeing 1991 Lesabres around here and its making me want one BADDDLY

I had 3 Preludes, and loved them. Light, nimble and pretty quick for what they were. One was an 83 (12v dual carb 5 speed), an 85 (12v dual carb 5 speed) and an 86 (2.0Si 5 speed). I blew a rod through the block in the Si, lol. It was my own stupid fault, taking it to redline all the time with who knows how many miles on it. I do actually miss the Si and wouldn't mind another- I like that body style but would rather go for the 87-89(?) with 4WS. I had a friend with one and that thing was a cornering beast.

MY HONDA SO FAST!!!! SOO FAST YOU WISH IT WASNT SOO FAST!! <~ Retards that think with their asses...

my dad had a Rockhead working for him when we used to be sub contractors, and this guy used to tell us how he had a Twin Turbo Geo Storm.. then he told us that a car behind him got rearended and the driver that caused the accident went through 2 windshields and landed in his back seat.... THEN he told us he flipped a car and he had his hands on the inside of the roof holding himself up and he could feel the roof start to burn his hands.... Dude used to lie so much he believed himself...

heres the funniest one he EVER said > "Man i was on my Motorcycle Ridin down the road & DMX (The Rapper) Came up out of nowhere on a 4 wheeler next to me and Said Wassup!!" he claims this happened in NY.... I laughed in his face so damn hard.... Then he was driving my dads geo metro while he was Coked out and Drunk.... totaled it into the back of a Dodge Caravan and somehow he didnt go to jail... Years later (This past week) he sees my dad and claims that we owe him Tools and $3000.... if i could remember all the stories oh the laughs i could give...

On a side note... the cat is welded back together and am gonna rig the o2 sensor very soon

Idiots with hot glued pvc intakes, 4" exhaust, 6" muffler and a turbo whistle. And while that is a mistake it gets intolerable when they start the trash talk. "Man gonna geta smoked man... dease twins pack heat dawg, vtec rockin (300% of actual hp) 250hp on the tar biatches"

lol, when in reality, sleepers like mine and many others on this forum lay waste to their false pride. But not that they would recognize that, cause they "....got jacked on the start and left their ebrake on."

but all that doesn't really matter. An engine is an engine and if it only has 80 hp, soo what. There is a thing to say about taking economy to a science/art and master it. One day, I'de love to build a small block inline-4 and an turbo for fuel economy. beef up an automatics tcc for use at higher throttle, stuff like that. Make a gas engine run in the high 30's, low 40's mpg. heck, if 50+ mpg was possible, why not?

You could learn a lot here that doesn't have to be about the most power. This place is a little unique corner in the web.

And I'm happy for you man, you fixed your issue with the car. Some people can't handle the investigating side and just toss money at it.

Speaking of mpg economy, building a hybrid diesel/gas engine is a growing science. it shows promise.

and, jeese long post......I had my car idle for an hour straight, no leaks, no ticks, knocks or clatter. Not a spill or a spatter. She quietly rumbled at 650 rpm....exhaust clear as glass. Not an ounch of coolant lost, oil is clean and clear. Need to swap the front tires and bleed the brakes while I'm down there. And I got to raise the mufflers a tiny bit to avoid the curb pulling out (scratches badly). So the work needed is mild. Just in time for spring.

Save yourself some time and $$$. A few of my friends bought Festivas years ago when the rumors of the price of gas was going up started circulating. My one friend averaged around 50-52 on highway trips.
