  • Fuel injector chemical cleaners

Hey, my '99 3100 Lumina has a hard start hesitation condition at times. I've finally figured out it must be an intermittent leaky fuel injector(s) causing a flooding condition. More a nuisance than anything serious, but I don't want fuel leakdown into the cylinders.

I could tear the fuel rail out and install new injectors. Before I do, anyone got any good suggestions on fuel injector cleaners or any success repairing this condition with chemicals that don't require replacment?

I've read some good reviews about Techroline, but I'm assuming most cleaners are snake oil. Maybe something worth a try before I spend 250+ bucks on new parts and my labor? Thanks.

you could pick up a spare set of used injectors online or at the junk yard and have them cleaned by Witchhunter or another cleaning service... that's the correct way to do it.

In-tank cleaners don't really work when it comes to more serious problems, and never soak the injectors in store bought cleaners.

The car is a spare, so it could sit for a few weeks while I send the originals off. But I'm still debating buying new delcos on ebay. I see Wot-tech has a used set for 100 bucks that are ready to go, I assume.

      Thanks.

If the car can sit, sending them off as Dave suggested is a great way to go, and possibly better than new. They are not only going to be cleaned, but also all seals replaced, flow-matched with each other, etc. Definitely worth the cost, IMHO.
