I have a 2.8 TBI engine in a 1990 Isuzu Trooper, it has spent the past several weeks at the shop, having the core plugs in the back of the engine replaced, along with the rear main.
The good news is, a pressure test revealed no coolant leaks, bad news is the shop says it's leaking oil out of the intake manifold. I'm going to do that work myself, but I was under the impression that the intake manifold didn't have oil running through it? I keep thinking of this engine as a tiny TBI 350, and I know it doesn't have oil in the intake... only below it, in the lifter valley. Close inspection shows oil leaking down the passenger side rear of the engine, and close inspection also shows missing hardware on the passenger side valve cover, which is going to be an easy fix. Is it likely that the oil is pouring out of the intake somewhere? Or will $20 worth of valve cover gaskets fix me?
