  • Question: Where does this connector go? 96 GP 3.1

    Hi,
I just replaced the LIM gaskets on my relatives 96 Pontiac GP 3.1. The job went well and the original gaskets were leakers, but I can't find where this red, 2-pin connector goes? There are two of them and I believe the other one goes to the canister purge valve on top of the coil packs... Any help would be much appreciated

      Thanks for the quick response

Thanks a bunch boomofdoom88, I will check again this weekend or sooner.. I previously pulled the p/s pump and didn't see any connectors on the pump itself, but I will check again. Thanks for the quick reply

It definitely looks like the first pic on this LIM walkthrough.. hmm..

It may hang loose as not all W bodies got the speed sensitive steering. My Luminas didn't. It was mainly the "higher end" w bodies, like the GP and the Cutty, so if your PS pump doesn't have a connector, then it just sits there not connected.

What is the function of the speed sensitive steering? Stiffer wheel at higher speeds or looser wheel at low speeds?

Stiffer at higher speeds, I believe.

In my wifes car when it's unplugged it's fine in parking lots, but way to sensitive at higher speeds- almost unsafely sensitive.
