So recently I have been upgradeing my subwoofer system... I started my car and drove to wal-mart, (its the only place close that I could run my system hard) 14miles away. I got there parked, n left the car running while I tuned my amp. Now once I was done I got bk in the driver seat and my ABS light was on... I had been up front a few times n it wasn't on... I turned off the car turned it bk on n the light was out... I was about 2-3 miles from home and it came bk on. What could cause this? As now its on no matter what

Low system voltage can cause it. Most likely you have a large amp or your alternator is starting to get weak or go out (or both). A capacitor for your amp wouldn't be a bad idea if you can get the ABS light to pop on.

I wouldn't exactly spring for a huge alternator just yet. How big is your amp?

4k watts? Never mind, get that big alternator, lol. And a second battery for the trunk, preferably and Optima. I would do an Optima up front as well, along with a large capacitor.

It's taking dumps because it's not getting enough current. I'm willing to bet your current alternator isn't up to snuff. If I were you, I would go to the nearest parts store that does free charging system testing and have both the battery and the alternator load tested. If the battery is bad, replace it with an Optima. They may be expensive, but they are awesome batteries.

Have you retrieved the ABS trouble code? Even after the light goes out, it should be retained in memory.

If you ain't rock and roll, you must be driving a Honda

Check this out, see if it helps. Sorry to hear about the shop rates in your area, but with some diligent research you should be able to do this.

Ah, ok. When I read dumps when talking about car audio, I assumed the sub amp was shutting down for a second from not getting enough power.
