i have a 1995 3100 v6 with 4t60e in an Nbod

ok so as far as i can figure i have the evil so called "OBD 1.5" ecm.
right?

this is the obd 1 comp with a obd 2 plug right?

and from what i understand only dealerships have the capability of reading codes from them. am i right here too.

for my own sake i hope not i really dont want to take it to the dealership to get fixed but i need to take it somewhere. the dealership near me is usually 3 times as much as some good shops i know around me.

please someone prove this wrong im poor and cant afford the dealership!

You can find a shop that has the equipment but the dealership is your best bet.

It is still an OBD1 ECM and you can still retrive codes manually. You will have to find the pin that is grounded and then jump the one that is next to it. It works in the S-10 world so it should work for you.

There is only 1 pin in the connector, so it can't be jumped.

yah i dont know that much about it all i know is im calling a few long shot shops that might be able to tackle the task if not im reluctantly going to the dealership

My brothers 94 GPSE has the same issue. Codes cannot be pulled with a generic OBDII scanner, and cannot be read by shorting pins like you could on a 93. Luckily, I have access to a high-priced scanner at school that can read the codes....

Ground the pin on the ALDL connector to andy of the dash grounds. You might get a code that way.

I have a '95 W-Body with the dreaded OBD 1.5 also. I have a scanner that reads both OBD 1 and OBD 2, and to retrieve codes I used the OBD 1 scanner. However, I cannot short any of the connectors to retrieve codes. Don't know if this is part of the OBD 1.5 curse or what.
