EGR Delete

whats the main benefit if any to delete the EGR? i mainly want to do it to clean up under the hood.

are there pros and cons?

Pros - More room to work with in that corner of the engine, less to remove/reinstall when removing the uim, cleaner intake manifolds, one less source of vacuum leaks.

Cons - According to manufacturers: Hotter engine at cruise speeds, lower fuel economy, higher NOx emissions.

I've been without an EGR for about 3000 miles now. No noticeable difference in fuel economy or running temperature.

Been without an EGR on both my cars for years. No noticeable difference in economy or temps like Azrael said. Also...

Pro- Less carbon buildup in the top end.
