    Hey guys, I am wondering if you can use gen 3 main and rod bearings in a gen1 motor?
    Specifically 3400 bearings on a RWD 3.4

      Dunno any reason why you couldn't, since you can retrofit any 3400 or 3100 crankshaft into a RWD iron-headed 2.8, 3.1, or 3.4 block.

      One thing you might do is go to www.rockauto.com or other auto parts site and compare part numbers between the RWD and FWD motors. This should confirm whether or not the same bearings are being used.

      BTW, here's a good article on oil pressure issues, take note of the type of main bearings they're recommending:
