engine wont start without pressing gas pedal down

Hey guys got a question for you. I have a 1995 chevy bretta 3100 and i cant get it to start without press the gas pedal down all the way. I change the fuel pump got the fuel pressure i need. I changed plugs and wires and it started right up no gas. I let it run for five to ten mintues, and it wouldnt start without the gas pedal down again. I was thinking coil packs but I dont no for sure what do you guys think.

almost sounds like it's flooding the chambers with fuel....

pull at least the front plugs and see what they look like. lots of black means excessive amounts of fuel.

Ok if thats what it is doing how can i fix it. It runs great after i get it running and clear it out.

well, let's see if the plugs are going to give an indication or not first.

I cant check them intell tomorrow I am at work and dont have a computer inless I am here. So if you could tell me how to fix it if thats the case. i no when i pulled my old plugs number 2 was wet with fuel and the car had not been run for 12 hours. the old plugs was black but the engine i have set for three years so idk help lol

#2 was wet with fuel? you may have a leaking injector, which would cause this kind of problem. to confirm this, keep checking pressure at the fuel rail after the engine is shut down. it should stay relatively close to 43.5PSI and not leak down much over the course of a few hours...

a leaking injector seems like it is the most likely problem... did any of the other plugs look wet when pulled?

Check vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator. There should be no gas in the line. I don't think it causes this big of an issue but it's a quick and easy check.

The last one I had here would only stay running with your foot on the pedal (ran like crap unless you tached it out some) and reaked like fuel inside and out. I would lean towards a leaky injector too, considering the wet plug.
