I just got done doing a flush with thermistat out flushed untill clear. Filled up with dex cool untill 50/50 mix using straight coolant. Is dex cool as bad as Iv heard does it eat the seals??? What do you guys use/recomend

There's nothing wrong with Dexcool. The problem that GM cars were having had to do with not keeping air out of the system which allowed for corrosion and the resulting "goo" that we see in these systems. Make sure that your system is well sealed, that the rad cap is a good quality cap. Check the radiator neck for nicks and scratches and buff them out if you find them. Keep the reservoir a little above the factory full point to help keep air out of the system. Do a careful air purge and that should be it.

thanks for the info im kinda in the middle of the road on this to if it eats the LIM gaskets ect i will change them out not to bad a job however i will probably flush the system every two years or so keep it fresh iv had the same problem with 95 berretta with reg green stuff i guess the LIM is just problematic

I have found that the real key to the composite type LIM gasket is to make sure the bolt holes are spotless, the bolt threads are spotless, follow the torque procedure with anal attention to detail and above all . . . make sure your radiator flows well and the fans are in good shape with respect to motor speed.
