Chasing down the cause of a 0410 code I removed the secondary air pump and hoooked it up to 12v; didn't run. Took it apart and freed up the impeller (after dumping the water out) and now it runs. Put it all back together and tested again with a twelve volt source. Now it's back in the vehicle and I want to test it as installed but I can't get any good information from the fuse and relay compartments covers or the factory service manuals as to what fuse protects it and what relay drives it. The instruction in the manual says it's relay 10 for the pump but the illustrtion in the manual sure doesn't look like this vehicle. The manual shows the underhood electrical center to be over by the master cylinder. On this vehicle it's on the opposite side of the engine next to the washer resevoir. And the fuse/relay illustration in the manual looks nothing like the layout of the my electrical center. I pulled every fuse in both fuse panels that I thought had any description that might be related to the pump but found none blown. There should be a blown fuse from the locked rotor pump. Anybody got any information that's relevant? Thanks.
I did find the culprit in making the pump wet. I guess you know, it was one of the air check valves. I saw it was wet as soon as I pulled the hose off. I took it apart and the vane for the check valve fell onto the floor. Guess they're only good for so many operations before the metal fatigues.
