what is the name of the fuel pressure test port on 3x00 engines? isn't it like a -6aN or something like that?

i figure it'd be a good idea to always have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to it so when i have a problem ill be able to see if i do or dont have pressure and i can eliminate some possibilities.

i have a strut tower brace and ive seen people just attach a fp gauge to that before so when they pop the hood its right there..

can anyone suggest a brand of fp gauge to use that is accurate and a decent size and price. a website link would be nice. thanks much!

The best FPG kits are the ones that include an aluminum tee fitting and multiple sized fittings and hoses designed expressly for this purpose. A visit to eBay will provide you with a decent array of them... they run about $30-$50 and you should try to get one that includes PSI and Pascal Level Readings. The same type of pressure release fitting that seals the tires on your car are present inside Schrader Valves... and will require a hose with connections that are not only fuel Proof...but have the ability to depress the Schrader Valve pin to release the fuel pressure inside the Fuel Rail. Have a clean rag in hand to absorb the fuel spray that accompanies doing this and keep it from hitting you in the face. Never attach anything to the Schrader Valve when the engine is actually running ...and you already know my standing admonition: Keep a Decent ABC Fire Extinguisher on hand and don't open your fuel system inside your house garage or with kids and animals running around.

Why not get a transducer and put the gauge in the car where you can watch it from the comfort of your "office"?

because dont you need to have the tap for the pressure sender somewhere in line? that what it looks like with glowshift's FP gauge. i'd like that but i like the idea of only screwing something onto the fuel rail.

              Rootie...

I forgot I picked up this item from Harbor Freight way back when I was contemplating building a "lighter" version of "The FrankInjector Machine" This image will show you that it has everything you will need...and not Punch Hell out of your wallet, too.

Take the valve out of the rail test port and thread on a -4an line that goes to an adapter for a pressure gauge. Simple. That's all I did.
