  • 3400 LA1 intake gasket change

i have my 3400 engine on the stand down to the longblock. i notice the intake gaskets go behind the pushrods so i need to pull the offending rocker arms and pushrods. are the rockers adjustable or do the bolts get torqued to spec(and if so what is the spec?). it is a 2000 engine, roller rockers.

just need to know that then i can put it back together.

They are torqued to spec. Not sure on the torque spec though....

      thank you, sir brad.

anyone know the torque? newest factory GM manual i have with 3x00 in it is '96 so i dont think that will work.

also need torque and sequence of lower intake bolts.

        According to my 2000 service manual, 14 lb-ft + 30 degrees.

haha its even a topic i started!

i'm going to be so damn busy, looks like ive got a basement finshing job in a huge house. around 2300 sq foot of studs, electric, wall , acoustic ceiling, carpet, bathroom with ceramic tile, full custom wetbar, custom oak surrounded ventless gas fireplace.....thats probably 2 months of work for me, and with the cash i make off that i will definitely be finishing my car the right way.
