  • 3900 question

    Hey,

A co worker of mine drives an uplander with the 3900. We had our fuel pump harness unplugged underneath the car by some other tradesmen who were getting back at us for making them walk the stairs. He started the car, and ran it for at least 2 to 3 minutes and turned it off, so he could help me with my car (a shit freestar), as it was not starting at all.

I'm just wondering how did that thing run so long with no fuel? After he turned it off, and went to start it, it wouldn't turn over, and then we figured someone is messing with us. Would he have gotten down the road, and had it stall on him?

Wow. I'd think even at idle the pressure would drop really fast from what was in the rails...

does the 3900 use a returnless fuel system?

i know on the monte if i cut power to the fuel pump the motor will die within 1 second at idle.
