  • Question : Stumped By Coolant Leak

I have a fast steady drip of coolant leaking only when the engine is at normal running temperature. Not exaggerating - about 3 drips a second. The leak is coming from the area right above the crankshaft. I discovered that it is dripping onto the belt and spewing everywhere in the vicinity of the belt.

At first i thought coolant was leaking from one of the hoses or water pump. This is not the case. Then i thought coolant was leaking from the intake manifold gasket. I dont think this is the case because the leak just came on full force yesterday. It went from NO leak whatsoever to... "there is a little, but visible steam coming out of the hood when i am stopped"

What could be some possible leakage areas?

Timing cover gasket is my first guess, as I have had a similar leak and that is what caused it.

The bolts can also leak if they were not sealed properly.
