Looks like I get to undo the PO's wiring butchering. I was trying to find out where the wires were that go to my oil pressure sending unit and I found a bunch of cut wires taped up out of the way. I imagine some of these wires go to the sending unit, but which ones? What are all the others for?
It's a '87 S-15 2.8L
I looked at a wrecking yard today, but they only had an '86 and two '88s. The '86 didn't look right, and the wires in the '88 appear to be color-coded different.
Here's what I have:
A brown and light pink on the d/s inner fender near the master cylinder:

And six wires that go into a small harness that goes behind the engine and appears to connect to the large harness running behind the distributor:
They appear to be:
Beige
Dark Beige
Orange
Brown
Beige with white stripe
Black

The truck does run, although not well while cold. (I do have some helpful diagnosis hints from another thread on the cold idle issue that I'll try after I get this wiring straightened out.) So far the only thing that doesn't seem to be working is the oil pressure gauge, but I could be missing something.
TIA!
