About using "straight" EFI Cleaner in an "ON-THE-VEHICLE" scenario... FOLLOW SUPERDAVE'S ADVICE ABOUT ALWAYS MIXING THE CLEANER WITH SOME TOP-TIER GASOLINE!!! When I have made reference in the past to using pure Chevron Techron or a mixture of Lucas Oil and WD-40... please note that this is strictly for use on "The FrankInjector Machine" as there are no other components being affected by this pure cleaning solution. If you try and BURN pure EFI Cleaner without other very high octane gasoline added as a "buffer" to this mixture ...you will run the risk of high powered detonations to the piston tops... or burning the edges of your valves in the heads like Crispy Fried Pork Rinds!

Say... Now THIS looks interesting...Take a peek at what "HIPROFILE" mentions about what his simple and inexpensive method is for cleaning EFIs at this other site... He even mentions something about "control mechanisms" he uses for firing the injectors...OTV! Can't have enough new ideas on stuff like this...

I haven't gotten to the point where i need injectors cleaned very soon so I haven't put much thought time or effort into it.
        Wrath...

I am still looking to do One Last Real World Test Batch on somebody's Fuel Injector Set... So if you would like to play a role in that final test phase... I would be happy to put yours through their paces on "The FrankInjector Machine" and get an objective understanding of how they perform when you get them back. I will do this free of charge, of course with the understanding that I will post your tests online on my photobucket for each phase of Ultrasonic Cleaning, Pressure Cleaning and Flow Balancing and wait for your precise report on how things go when you get them back and install them. We both live in Florida... so mailing by USPS back and forth should not be that expensive. So I am willing to do this if you will cover the to and from S&H expenses by ground. Oh...and if you have any concerns about my honesty... Please check with Max... tkoforpresident... I recently used a set of his old injectors in the first Real World test and he can fill you in on his level of satisfaction.. Okay? Just let me know. I won't wait for the grass to grow to get them done, either, but they WILL get cleaned on "The FrankInjector machine"... I can promise you that!

          Hey 60dgrzbelow0,

I would happily take you up on that last test batch if Wrath declines.
The injectors in my Chevette could benefit from a good cleaning (94 3.4L "L32") after 108,000 miles

P.S. "The FrankInjector Machine" rules! Nice work!

            Hello Scooter....

Let me give Wrath a chance to reply...and I must also allow the other "Elder Members" who have supported its development "First, Second and Third DIBS"...and if none of them "lean into the pitch" I've just soft-balled to Wrath... I will let you know and we can go from there... Fair Enough?

                Nope.

For my part... I have done my best to design, build and test "Frank" in a way that will clear a path for anyone with basic mechanical skills and some desire to be able to do this on their own to build their versions with these ideas in mind.... and perhaps be able to clean EFIs more often than just every 100,000 Miles or so. AFAIK... This machine is unique in all the non-commercial automotive world and puts real cleaning power into the hands of the average person at a mere fraction of what it would cost to buy an ASNU machine or the like.

This project only needs one last, very important piece of hardware to finally be completed and put to bed: A device that can regulate, actuate and motivate a wide range of Fuel Injectors into a variety of spray patterns that are probably very important when doing the final Flow Balance Testing phase to reveal any "Weak Sisters" and point out any problematic injectors for either additional cleaning or replacement of same, I will only be testing one more set to finish doing a proper and objective evaluation "Frank's" performance. And so now... I am waiting for member I will call "TRON" to build us something to handle these last and final problems and issues.

No problem, Scooter... I'll give it a few days and see what pops from the folks here... usually it takes some time for many to be able to get back and peruse their prior posts to stay topical, so unless I herar from Wrath on my offer or from some of the other Senior Members...To paraphrase Buzz Aldrin ..."You're Number One on the Runway..." for participation...

By the way... Some fairly exciting stuff relating to "Frank" is going on as we speak over on this link...

(OLLOPA cum Rick who is now "TRON"...? Jesus...with all these nicknames...the next thing you know... They'll be calling "USAL"...."Paul Mouadeeb" over on the set of "DUNE"...!

I'll be watching "Frank's" thread closely now.
Tron and Dune references in one sentence, very cool
