I dont post here much but I was reading through some of the threads and I saw a post that said that the timing chain should be changed every 100,000 miles. My car has 115,6xx miles on it and has the original timing chain. Should I change it and if so should I get a double roller chain or a regular one?

Its not that big of deal. I know plenty of 660s on stock timing chain with 100k+ What kind of car is it? If its FWD, to make a double roller set work, you have to grind some material off the timing cover. If its RWD, the double roller should work fine. But again......I wouldnt worry with changing itRobby Whitesell

Im driving a 93 chevy cavalier 3.1. I guess I can grind some material off the timing cover. Shouldnt be too hard. I just wanna make sure Im not doing something wrong by running it with so many miles on the original timing chain. How long should I go before changing it ?I know you heard the noise/Preachers touching on altar boys/Sodomizing, not realising/God is watching, beforethe Lord!

I say go until it breaks....and then get a new motor. Like its hard to say, change it every so many miles. It something that usually doesnt go bad that often. I wouldnt worry with a double roller set up.....stock is just fine for anything, even built up motorsRobby Whitesell
