  • Fan Inop 1995 Buick

After tearing down the top end on the 1995 Buick Century 3100 and putting it all back together the fan does not operate. It worked fine when I was trouble shooting the problem before the tear down. All the plugs seem to be in the correct places, the fan lead is plugged into the fan. During the test drive while sitting at a stop light the temp creaped up a little above normal and the fan does not come on. Any ideas?

Find your relay, and stock a wire to jump it (I dunno the exact pins on a 95 but im sure someone does...or you can figure it out by trial and error). Key has to be on though for it to run but this will tell you if its wired up properly at least.

Thanks Ben, I put a volt meter in the fan wire receptacle, cranked up the engine and waited for the temp to come up. The voltage showed up when the temp got a bit above normal. I plugged in the fan and it seems to work perfectly. I think there might have been some corrosion on the plug/receptacle. LELeach
