I believe someone with a tuner programmer on here could disable the Passlock system if you sent them your PCM while repairing the engine.

Ohh wow it involves all that? On my cavalier its just a few cycles of the ignition. Ok so who can I contact that would be able to take care of that?

Aight guys got a motor I can get my hands on for free. It runs and it doenst seem like the motor is hurt.....but there a lot of smoke out the tail pipe, it looses coolant like crazy and the oil dipstick is covered in the "chocolate milk". So Im guessing it def. has the intake gasket failure. She said it started loosing coolant in Oct. and now it has problems starting so she's just sick of it. I got it to start and run, I think the coolant was just flooding the combustion chamber. So what damage might already be done and do you guys think its worth my time to change the oil, do a flush, swap to proper gaskets and swap it in. Or is this a process that cant be stopped once its started?

I wouldn't want that block. You need to tear it completely apart and have it hot tanked. The lifters need to be torn down and cleaned up, same as the pushrods. Everything needs to be cleaned and you should get a new oil pump as well.

And all bearings for sure (rods, mains, cam). Don't chance reusing bearings after a bad LIM gasket leak.

Yeah thats what I was thinking I just wanted confirmation. Im not going to bother with it. Im just going to find a running motor w/o the gasket failure and swap the gaskets before it goes in. I dont think its worth all of that.

This time of year, you will find some condensation mixture in the valve cover area which will look the same, but will not be a bad gasket.
Glad to see someone else here knows about this, instead of giving the automatic answer of bad LIM gasket.
